| Week 53 | August 2, 2004 to August 3, 2004 |
| Aug 3 | Rachel fell asleep at 1AM...up briefly at 3AM...slept till 9AM. She very happy playing with the activity atom...napped at noon. Mommy woke her up at 2:30PM for special ed, but the session was actually scheduled for Thurs :-O. Rachel was not mad at Mommy tho. She had some belly time on the propup playmat...some kicking of the activity atom...just chilled out on the gymini. Rachel did not have another nap, though she acted like she wanted to a few times in the evening. It took her a long time to fall asleep at 11PM...must be the excitement and anticipation of her birthday tomorrow :-D |
| Aug 2 | Another banner night and day for Rachel. She woke up at 5AM for a we diaper change...wanted to be held for awhile...asleep by 6:30AM. Rachel slept late..till feeding time at 10AM...very happy for the next 3 hours before a nap...played with her birthday toys. Her favorite has to be the Activity Atom by Fisher Price. The toy has lights and music and is very sensitive to touch; excellent feature for Rachel It doesn't have an on/off switch though...not so good for Mommy & Daddy; but they are just so glad Rachel has a toy she's somewhat interested in. She can sit in her therapy chair and kick it with her feet or lay on her side and wack/move it with her hands. Rachel was very happy after a 2 hour nap...even for PT. It was a great session. Rachel smiled thru all the work. The therapist loved her new prop up playmat for work on the belly...Mommy and Daddy picked this one :-). Rachel continued to be happy after the therapist left...nap for 3 hours at 6PM...spent the rest of the evening with Daddy. |

| Week 51 | July 26, 2004 to August 1, 2004 |
| Aug 1 | PARTY! PARTY! PARTY! It's time to celebrate Rachel's FIRST birthday; actual birthday's on Wednesday, but it's a Chinese custom to celebrate early if not on the day of. There's two parties today; Cousin Michael turns 4 on Tuesday, so it's time to celebrate that as well :-). Rachel had a good night in preparation for her big day. She got up at 8AM; spent 3 happy hours playing with Daddy. Took a nap before the guests...really just family...arrived. She was up and ready for her cake...an ice cream cake with 12 pictures of Rachel on it...one for each month...at 1PM. Excellent timing as everyone was finishing up with their lunch. Rachel was amazingly well behaved throughout her cake and presents...always lots of presents from the uncles, aunts, and cousins ;-). All the excitement tired Rachel out and she couldn't stay up for the second party. She was out for 4 hours at 4PM when the second party just got started...woke up just in time to say goodbye to everyone before retiring at midnight. |
| Jul 31 | Rachel slept well...from 1AM to 9AM. She had a wonderful day...spent the morning playing with Daddy..he's loads of fun...napped for a couple of hours at 11AM...another short 1 hour nap at 3PM. She was in a general good mood all day. She was out for the night at around 11:30PM. Mommy and Daddy's been noticing some subtle developmental improvements lately. Rachel's starting to touch and feel Mommy's face and neck; touching her feeties; grab and hang on the small things such as strings; all very small baby steps, but makes Mommy and Daddy extremely happy :-D No visual reaction to the vaccines given yesterday. No spit up. |
| Jul 30 | Rachel had a good night. She got at around 7AM...that's 8hrs straight...or so Mommy believed. Pediatrician check up today...10lbs 4oz; 24.5 in; shrunk again from the cardiologist's measurements...heeheeheeee. Mommy asked a few questions...still no decongestions...suggested to start on meat. Three shots today...ouch!...chicken pox, tuberculosis, and polio. Rachel did very well; screamed as the shots were administered, but calmed down pretty quickly. Mommy was extremely proud of her! No reaction to the shots so far. Followup visit in 2 months. Rachel had a good day despite the vaccinations...she napped for a couple of hours at 2PM then another 3 hours at 7PM. Mommy had to wake her for a bath at 10PM...she was not happy at first, but calmed down and remained awake after the bath. No spit up today...feed at 90 with increased baby food. |
| Jul 29 | Rachel was up for a few minutes around midnight...quickly went back to sleep on Daddy's belly. She woke Mommy for a wet diaper change at 6AM, then stayed awake but remained quiet so Mommy can get some more sleep...the sweet little piggie :-*. She fell asleep around the time Daddy left for work at 8:30AM. Mommy had to wake her for the Special Ed Teacher at noon. Fortunately, Rachel remained calm after being aroused from her slumber. She was very mellow for the teacher's last day. Rachel will get another teacher next week, but she also had resigned so will see Rachel for about a month. Rachel remained awake and very good with a few outbursts of 'hey, I need attention here!' for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. She retired for the night at 11PM...Mommy foresees a good night ahead :-). Rachel spit up again today...feed at 100cc. Dropping feed down to 90cc and increase the baby food mix to 1.5tbs tomorrow. |
| Jul 28 | Don't know about Rachel, but Mommy had a good night :-). Rachel needed a dirty diaper change at 5AM. She was quiet and content when Mommy put her back in the crib. Daddy said she had woke up twice coughing...at 2AM and 7AM...Mommy didn't hear a thing. Rachel was sleeping when Daddy left for work at 8:30AM. She was awake and entertaining herself in the crib at 9:30AM. She had a good morning, napped for an hour at 1PM then down for another nap at 3PM (Mommy kind of forced the later one so she can be fresh for PT). Rachel was still sleeping when the therapist arrived at 5PM. Mommy had to wake her up; she was too thrill about it but stay alert enough for some work. After half an hour, Rachel had enough PT and chased the therapist out the door. She remained rather fussy for the rest of the evening till finally falling asleep at 10:30PM. Rachel spit up once today with the feed at 100cc...looks like it's volume...see if it happens again tomorrow. Rachel's 9lbs 15oz...no gain from 2 weeks again. |
| Jul 27 | Rachel was up at 4AM again. After a wet diaper change and some head banging, she went back to sleep at around 5AM. She was up bright and early at 7:30AM. Mommy placed her in the therapy chair and turned on Baby Mozart for her; she enjoyed it for a little while...Mommy thinks she likes Baby Beethoven the best :-)...then chilled out on the gymini for a bit before taking a nap at 10:30AM. She was still asleep when the special ed teacher called so Mommy decided it was better to try on thurs; Rachel woke up an half hour later at the original schedule time. It would have been a good session, too as Rachel was in a good mood...oh well! She fell asleep again at 2PM; woke up cranky at 4PM. She was cranky for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Mommy had no idea what was bugging her; just one of those unsolved mysteries...guess what Mommy's been watching these days :-). Rache was out for the night by 9PM. No spit ups today :-)...feed up to 90cc. Mommy had another theory that Rachel's spit ups may have been associated with having baby food by mouth. Mommy hadn't give Rachel any for the past couple of days and no spit up...it could also be volume. |
| Jul 26 | Rachel had a decent night at last! She was up for a couple of hours at 4AM...up early at 8AM...well rested and happy...napped for a couple of hours at noon...woke up cranky. Mommy kept her up for PT, but Rachel was not in the mood. After some work on the belly and some sitting, Rachel got very upset and the session ended. She fell asleep shortly after the therapist left...out until Daddy got home...around 8PM. She had alot of fun with Daddy before retiring for the night at 10PM. No spit up...feed up to 80cc. Rachel's 9lbs 14oz...lost an ounce from 2 weeks ago :-( Rachel gets 18-19 oz/day with 1/2 tbs fruit/veggie at each meal, 1/2oz juice/day, 4mg Furosemide (Lasix)/twice daily, 25mcg Lanoxin (Digoxin)/twice daily, 0.7cc Zantac/twice daily, and Mylicon as needed. |

| Week 51 | July 19, 2004 to July 25, 2004 |
| Jul 25 | Rachel was up with Daddy till 2:30AM when Mommy tookover. She stayed up for another half hour. Rachel was up bright and early at 7AM. She was up pretty much the whole day...half hour nap around 1PM...an hour nap around 3PM. She was exhausted and conked out for the night at 7PM. Mommy adjusted Rachel's feed down to 70cc formula & baby food mix and 30cc pedialyte today. No spit ups! |
| Jul 24 | Rachel napped for an hour at 11:30PM to get ready for another party night. She was up till 5AM...spent time alternating between the bouncer, gyminin and Mommy while Mommy enjoyed another movie plus all the extra features on the DVD. Daddy, who was exhausted and had gone to bed early woke when Rachel was fussing for sleep and tookover from Mommy. Rachel slept till about 8AM and did not nap again till 3:30PM. Mommy woke her for a bath at 9PM, but she promptly went back to sleep during her 10PM feed. She spit up twice today. |
| Jul 23 | Rachel woke Mommy around 4AM for a dirty diaper change. She decided to stay up; wanted to wake Daddy too with all her yabbering. Mommy took her out to the living to give Daddy some peace and quiet. Rachel was cool in her bouncer while Mommy rested on the couch. It was almost 6AM when Mommy put a sleepy Rachel in her crib. She was up again 8AM; Mommy had to get up as well since Daddy had to get to work :-(. Rachel stayed up all morning...out at noon for 4 hours...out again at 6PM for another 4 hours. She continued to have spit ups. |
| Jul 22 | Mommy tookover from Daddy sometime between 1 & 2AM. Rachel fell asleep around 3AM...woke at 6:30AM...talkative...wanted to wake everyone up to play with her. She was very content after a 3 hour nap at 11AM. She nap again 5PM for 3 hours and spet the rest of the evening with Daddy while Mommy turned in early. |
| Jul 21 | Rachel continued with her unruley nightlife. She was up when Mommy woke at 1AM to takeover from Daddy. She actually slept on Mommy for a couple of hours, the another hour after Mommy put her down. She stay up after that; quite happy and vocal. She took a short nap at 9AM, then slept soundly from 1-7PM. She dozed off at 9:30PM, but not very soundly. No PT today...therapist called sick. Rachel spit up a couple of times today :-( |
| Jul 20 | As expected Rachel was up at midnight. Daddy entertained her until Mommy got up at 2:30AM. She fell asleep an hour later but woke crying after another hour. Mommy thought it might have been gas and gave her some mylicon at 5AM. Rachel continued to fuss; finally Mommy gave her some tylenol (to take care of any pain) at 6AM. Rachel calm down and fell asleep shortly afterwards. She slept away the morning...woke up a bit fussy at noon. Her mood changed for the better after a bath at 3PM. She chilled for an hour before taking a 3 hour nap. Rachel took another short nap...about an hour...at 8PM...very happy and smiley until 10:30PM when she turn in for the night. Mommy did the same. |
| Jul 19 | Almost an exact duplicate of the previous night. Rachel woke at 1AM for 10 minutes; slept till 3AM; stayed awake. She was rather angry with Mommy for trying to put her to bed so Mommy had to take her out to the living room so she won't wake Daddy. Rachel hanged out in the bouncer until Daddy woke up at 7AM. Mommy went to sleep while Daddy took over. Rachel spit up shortly afterwards and fell asleep. She slept, slept, and slept. Mommy had to wake her a 2:30PM to get ready for PT. She was not happy with Mommy, but she did remain awake. Mommy was surprised she did not give the therapist a hard time. Rachel had another wonderful session; she remained awake for a while after the therapist left...napped from 6-9PM; out at 10:30PM. Mommy expect another long night. Rachel gets 20 oz/day with 1/2 tbs fruit/veggie at each meal, 1/2oz juice/day, 4mg Furosemide (Lasix)/twice daily, 25mcg Lanoxin (Digoxin)/twice daily, 0.7cc Zantac/twice daily, and Mylicon as needed. |

| Week 50 | July 12, 2004 to July 18, 2004 |
| Jul 18 | Rachel continued with her night/early morning partying. She woke up crying at 1AM...calm down after some orajel then tylenol...back to sleep by 1:30AM...not so bad so far. Crying again a 3AM. Mommy thought they were whiny cries and not cries of pain. She took Rachel out to the living room, so Rachel can cry without waking Daddy. Rachel settled down after about half hour, but remained awake. She was at times giggly and talkative...at times quiet and stared into space...at times whiny and wanted to cuddle...didn't allow Mommy to sleep either...another movie. Rachel was still wide awake by the end of the movie at 6AM. Mommy was exhausted and since Rachel was calm, Mommy put her down in the crib and turned on the dreamscape soother for her. She started to complain when the music stopped; Mommy was too tire to get up so Daddy took over. Daddy reported Rachel was in a good mood and talkative until a messy spit up...lots of gooey stuff...fell asleep after that...around 8AM. Rachel slept most of the day...waking around 5PM...if she only sleep that this at night, life would be perfect. She was quiet with occasional outbursts in the evening. |
| Jul 17 | It was a rough night for all. Rachel woke at 1AM...cuddled with Mommy for a couple of hours before the fussing start. Mommy tried orajel and tylenol...no effect...the missy was screaming. By 4AM, Mommy was exhausted and had no patience left...good thing Daddy woke with all the noise. Daddy tried to calm the piggie to no avail. He was sure her teeth was still bothering her so he gave her a BIG glob of orajel all over her gums. It took a few minutes, but the poor baby finally settled down. Mommy kicked Daddy back to sleep b/c Rachel had an early appointment with the cardiologist in the morning and Daddy had to drive. Rachel hanged out for another couple of hours before falling alseep at 6AM. Mommy took a short 1.5 hour nap...washed up with her eyes close...drank her first cup of coffee in a long while to get a boost for the cardiologist appointment. Rachel was sleeping until Daddy placed her in the carseat. She was awake but very calm in the car and they were actually early this time :-O...very unusal for Rachel. Mommy fed Rachel in the car ride and she spit up some...time for more saline nebulizer...maybe even coke. Rachel had been a bit snorty of late. Rachel was excellent during the visit with the doctor. Basically nothing had changed since the last visit two months ago. They discussed the outcome of the meeting with the bio-ethicist/genetist. Mommy and Daddy's descision with surgery was do nothing unless Rachel's in distress. Daddy requested the doctor to do an echocardiogram, it's been almost a year since the last one, to get an update on Rachel's current condition. Rachel was a bit upset during the latter half of the echo, but she got thru it. As expected, the large VSD was still there with bi-directional blood flood. Her right ventricle seemed a bit larger than the left. The surprise for Mommy: the ASD that the doctor said had closed on the first visit was still there...it's a small to moderate hole with blood flow from left to right. The doctor said this may be a good thing for pulmonary hypertension as it can act a blowoff valve. From the echo, he did not detect any sign of pulmonary hypertension yet...sigh of relief for Mommy and Daddy. Overall, Rachel's doing just fine. His scale had her at 10lbs 6oz...that's 7oz more than the home scale! She measured 24.75 inches...definitely growing vertically if not horizontally...so much for a chubby baby. Based on the weight gain, the doctor increased Rachel's digoxin to 25mcg/twice daily. Follow up visit in 3-4 months. Rachel quickly went for a nap after they got home around 1PM. She was out for 4 hours...Mommy took a nap as well. Rachel was very good after her nap and behaved very well while Mommy and Daddy had dinner with some friends. She took a short nap, less than an hour at 9PM. She was very vocal for the remainder of the evening...aahhhhh, eehhhhhh, ggaaaaaa... There was another spit up during the last bolus feed :-(. Mommy gave her some coca cola after that. She was out at midnight...for the night Mommy hoped. |
| Jul 16 | Rachel continued with her night activities. She was up at 12:30AM...Daddy reported all giggles and smiles...until 3:30AM when her loud cries woke up Mommy. Mommy immediately kicked Daddy of to bed...it was thoughtful of him to let Mommy sleep, but how's he going to function at work without sleep?! Rachel calmed down after some orajel...still wide awake. At 5AM, she was discovering her voice...screeching screams...smile...more screams...smile...Mommy video taped it! She finally tired out at 5:30AM and Mommy put her down around 6AM. Rachel sleep till feeding time at 10AM...she spit up some when Mommy tried to spoon her some baby food...guess that need to be done before the feed; no during...as CousinB would say, duh!...hen a nice 3 hour nap a 11AM. She was all ready PT today (make up session for Monday) and had an excellent session...the best so far. She showed off rolling almost to the belly...rolled out it; sitting with help while moving her head to look around; standing, with help of course...big smiles for that; bearing weight on the knees....all without any fuss whatsoever! Mommy was so proud. During the session, the therapist notice Rachel had her left hand which she always kept close to her chest on her left knee...first sign of reaching. She's also kicking alot more nowadays. All the work during therapy tired out the little piggie. She chilled out for a bit then fuss to be held to sleep. |
| Jul 15 | Daddy said Rachel woke up at midnight. Mommy got up at 1AM to take over. Like the previous nights, Rachel was content with cuddling. It was almost 5AM when the little piggie finally went to sleep. She was up again at 8AM...Mommy had to get up as well since Daddy had to go to work. Rachel was content in the bouncer while Mommy dozed off onthe couch. She woke Mommy for food at 10AM and promptly fell asleep as her belly was satisfied. Mommy had to cancel her special ed teacher again b/c Rachel was sleep rather soundly plus the speech therapist wanted to come later. Since Rachel hadn't seen the ST for over a month, Mommy thought it'd be beter for Rachel to rest up for her. Rachel woke at 2PM for food and stayed awake. Mommy though the ST was coming around 4PM, but she didn't show up till closer to 5PM; hence Rachel was getting tire. Rachel let the ST work her mouth for about 20 minutes before fussing for sleep. Mommy asked the ST if she saw any progress in Rachel...the response was Rachel initiated everything with a bit...the suck was lacking...Mommy suspect Rachel will probably never learn to suck. Mommy did informed the therapist that Rachel has been taking a little bit (1/2-1 tsp) of baby food by the mouth recently. She'd give Mommy a look like what the... when the food get in her mouth, then pushes it with her tongue; the tongue goes back in, swallows and most the food's gone. Daddy also gives Rachel several licks on the lollipop...she enjoys those. Well, the therapist said Rachel will need a swallow study to make sure food does not go down to her lungs before further oral feeding can be pursuit. Mommy didn't think Rachel's taking enough by mouth for such a study...she was hoping the therapist will work with Rachel to get her to eat more first...maybe it's time to seriously look for another speech pathologist. Mommy had to wake Rachel for a bath at 9PM. She was still rather tired and fell aslep after her feed at 11PM...Mommy followed an hour later. |
| Jul 14 | Daddy reported Rachel a quite tempermental from midnight to 2AM...sleep...cry...sleep...cry... Mommy woke at 2AM to find Rachel cuddled with a very tired Daddy. Mommy took her out to the living room and started another movie while Rachel continued with her cuddling on Mommy. Rachel was fast asleep by the end of the movie :-). She woke at for a couple of hours at 10AM for food; napped at noon for four hours...all rested for PT. It was very good session for the little missy; she screamed at the therapist a few times, but got through the session without much fuss. The therapist started to get Rachel to bear weight on the feeties...Rachel love that, she gets to be lifted up high, then put down...bigs smiles on those cheeks. Rachel took a short nap after therapy. She was out for the night...so Mommy hoped...at 10PM...Mommy followed an hour later. |
| Jul 13 | Rachel woke at 2AM...crying. Mommy took her out to the living room...too tired to watch a movie tonight. Rachel did not wished to be put down...cuddled with Mommy on the couch while Mommy drifted in and out of sleep...at 5AM Rachel was banging her head ...definite sign of being tire...Mommy was able to put her down soon afterwards. Rachel was up early, considered the time she went to sleep, at 8AM...napped at 10AM...Mommy had to reschedule her special ed teacher for Thurs b/c Rachel was still soundly asleep when the time appointed time drew close. Rachel had a couple of very special visitors today...angel Baby Ryan's Mom and little sister drove all the way from MA to meet Rachel. Rachel woke up just in time to greet the guests. Except for a brief outburst, Rachel was on her best behavior for the entire visit. She napped after her 2PM feed allowing Mommy some time for the visitors. Mommy had a great time. Little Drew...well she's big compared to Rachel; at a chubby 16lbs...is a very happy child...smiles ALL the time...what a doll! Ryan's mom, she's just great and so generous...brought lots of presents for Rachel; and something for Mommy, too. They had lunch; spent some time sharing pictures; talked about the experience, about the similar traits Ryan and Rachel shared; took some pictures...time just flew by...it was an amazing meeting! Rachel woke up just in time to say goodbye :-* Hope to see them again soon! Rachel was very content for the evening...fell asleep at 9PM...Mommy was right behind her. Rachel spit up during her bath today...why??? She's 9lb 15oz...only gained an ounce since last week...guess it's better than nothing. |
| Jul 12 | Rachel was up till about 3AM cuddling with Mommy on the couch. She was tired all day...woke for food at 10AM...back to sleep at 11AM...still asleep by 4PM...Mommy was beginning to worry she'd sleep thru PT. However, Rachel started to wake up when Mommy changed her diaper at 4:30PM. She was all set for PT at the appointed time, but the therapist called to cancel...car problems :-(...oh well; she'll try to make up the session Friday...have to see if the little piggie will be in a good mood. Rachel remained happy and alert for the eveening. She went to sleep at 9:30PM but woke intermittantly for food and diaper change among other things. She finally settled down at 12:30AM. Rachel gets 20 oz/day with 1/2 tbs fruit/veggie at each meal, 1/2oz juice/day, 4mg Furosemide (Lasix)/twice daily, 20mcg Lanoxin (Digoxin)/twice daily, 0.7cc Zantac/twice daily, and Mylicon as needed. |

| Week 49 | July 5, 2004 to July 11, 2004 |
| Jul 11 | Mommy thought Rachel was asleep on her at 1:30AM, but when she moved to put Rachel down, the little piggie's eyes popped opened. Mommy sat back down...half hour later, Rachel started to drifted again...Mommy waited another extra half hour...got up...Rachel's eyes flew open...how does she know?! This time Rachel was wide awake, she was not happy in one place for long period of time. Mommy had to alternate between the bouncer, gymini, and holding her. By 4AM, Mommy can hardly keep her eyes open while Rachel was still wide awake. By 5AM, Rachel must be getting a bit tired as she was doing her usual head bangs...Mommy started to drift as well. It was almost 6AM when Mommy finally put down the little munchkin. Daddy said Rachel slept the whole morning...she finally got up at 1PM...very mellow. She continue to be mellow while Mommy and Daddy did their weekly shopping. Rachel fell asleep at 7PM...Mommy thought she should be waken at 9PM, so Daddy woke her...bad move...Rachel was not a happer camper. She calm down a bit after her 10PM feed and fell aslep again at 11:30PM. |
| Jul 10 | Mommy finally put Rachel down at 3AM. She woke up early...around 8AM...down for a 2 hour nap at 10AM...another 3 hour nap at 2PM. She was really happy in the evening. She fell asleep on Daddy at 8PM while Daddy was watching a movie. Daddy refused to put her down...nice to cuddle with the little piggie. Rachel woke up at 10PM. |
| Jul 9 | Rachel woke up right before midnight. She was figety...wanted to cuddle up with Mommy...for 3.5 hours while Mommy watched another movie...good thing Daddy had borrowed many movies from the library this week. Rachel finally drifted off at 3:30AM...Mommy put her down at 4AM. Rachel was tired piggie all day...slept till 10:30AM...woke for food...back to sleep at 11AM...woke for more food at 2PM...another nap from 4-7PM. Rachel was in a good mood during the evening...slept for a hour at 10PM...looks like another movie night for Mommy. |
| Jul 8 | Rachel decided to stay up...Mommy had turned in early at 10PM...woke by Rachel's cries at 12:30AM. Mommy got up and took over from Daddy. Rachel settled down after some mylicon...Mommy thought the oatmeal cereal given earlier this week may have caused her some gas the past couple of days...back to the safe stuff: apples, bananas, carrots and rice cereal. Rachel was very calm until 3AM, content on rolling from side to side on the gymini while Mommy watched a movie. She fussed a little before falling asleep in Mommy's arms. Rachel was a tired piggie and slept till 10AM. She was getting tire during the special ed session and fell asleep for a short 1 hour nap after the teacher left. The teacher gave Mommy the sad news that she decided to leave her job to stay home with her 2 girls :-(. Mommy also talked with her about reducing Rachel's sessions to once a week b/c Rachel's not interacting with objects as yet. She thought it was a good idea and when Rachel's ready it'd be easy to increase the sessions. Rachel took another nap for 2 hours later in the afternoon. She was really happy and playful in the evening...out for the night at 10PM Rachel has been really responsive with giggles and laughs recently. She'd give a smile, sometimes a laugh when certain syllable was empasized...like peek-a-BOO! So Daddy told her the lame tomatoe joke: A papa tomato, a mama tomato, and a baby tomato were walking down the street. The baby tomato lagged behind, so the papa tomato went back and squished him. ketCHUP! Rachel actually laughed at the punchline...in perfect timing...it was ssssooooo very cute...funny thing was, she didn't laugh when only the punchline was said...hope to get it on video next time. |
| Jul 7 | Rachel finally fell asleep at midnight. She was up at 5AM, but didn't fuss till around 7AM...needed to be held to sleep...just a spoiled little piggie. She slept for another couple of hours...fussed for the next two...napped for 3 hours. She was calm after the nap, but was tired for her PT session as she had been up for 3 hours. The therapist managed to get her to sit a little, on her belly a little, and some stretches before Rachel really started to fuss. It took another hour for Rachel to fall asleep after the therapist left. She had a fussy evening...hopefully it's just the teeth. |
| Jul 6 | Rachel was up at round 4AM. She was quiet with her eyes wide open in the crib when Mommy checked her. Mommy went back sleep and thought she heard Rachel again at 6AM, but didn't get up to check. Rachel slept late again, till 9:30AM. She was content in the morning, but got tire half way thru her special ed session. She slept for 1.5 hours...up for some food...slept for another 1.5 hours. She was very fussy in the evening...orajel, tylenol, mylicon helped a little, but she had trouble falling asleep. Rachel was running low on Zantac, so Mommy called the pediatrician's office for a new prescription. But there seemed to be some kind of mistake when Daddy picked it up. It was a BIG bottle...10x bigger than her normal monthly supply! It seemed the prescription read 7ml/twice daily rather than .7ml. Mommy thought the nurse who took the phone call wrote it incorrectly, but thought the pharmacist should have checked and caught the mistake...it was such a HUGE discrepancy with the previous dosage which was also filled at the same pharmacy. Anyway, Rachel has enough Zantac to last a year...good thing the concentration is the same. Mommy's going to call the pharmacy to let them know about the mistake...just so they can review their procedures. |
| Jul 5 | Rachel had a rough night...possibly working on another tooth. Orajel didn't seemed to help this time. She finally settled dwon after some tylenol at 2AM. She woke again at 5AM...after more orajel and tylenol, she stopped fussing, but lied awake on Mommy's shoulder for another hour before falling asleep at 7AM. Rachel slept late, till 10:30AM. She behaved beautifully in the afternoon while Mommy and Daddy got some shopping done. Rachel's 9lbs 13oz...2oz gain from last week. Rachel gets 19 oz/day with 1/2 tbs fruit/veggie at each meal, 1/2oz juice/day, 4mg Furosemide (Lasix)/twice daily, 20mcg Lanoxin (Digoxin)/twice daily, 0.7cc Zantac/twice daily, and Mylicon as needed. |
| Jul 4 | Rachel is 11 month old today! She shares this celebration with Uncle Sam. Rachel slept from 1AM to 10AM...wowie! A very quiet day home with Mommy and Daddy. Rachel likes to stay home and do nothing :-D |
